Your new role
We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Legal Operations team as Managing Principal Lawyer on a full-time ongoing basis. Reporting to the Director - Legal Operations, the role will lead a team that is responsible for providing legal advice and support to the Operations Division on all legal issues arising from an investigation.
Duties include:
- Provide complex legal advice, including liaison and negotiation with stakeholders, to support IBAC and its business units, meet their statutory obligations.
- Professionally and promptly manage and resolve more complex work-related issues through to resolution; support constructive working relationships and act as a role model, modelling ethical behaviours and values.
- Translate business unit goals into realistic team objectives to ensure effective and efficient operational delivery; support staff in identifying and managing emerging risks in an environment of change and continuous improvement.
- Communicate at a high level with line management and other IBAC Leaders to achieve IBAC's objectives, including the development of IBAC staff and culture.

Our requirements / Your skill set
We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:
- Current practising certificate under a Legal Profession Uniform Law (or eligibility to acquire a practising certificate)
- Experience managing a team of legal practitioners.
- A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience essential.
