Your new role
We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Investigations team as an Intelligence Analyst on a full-time, ongoing basis. Reporting to the Manager - Investigations, the role plans and produces intelligence outputs and outcomes. The role works within a multi-disciplinary team environment to inform proactive or investigative lines of enquiry.
The Intelligence Analyst proactively researches, evaluates, and conducts detailed analysis to inform a variety of operational customers in a timely manner.
Duties include:Identify public and confidential sources of information relevant to the work of IBAC
- Research, analyse and present relevant information orally and in writing to operational staff, management, and other members of IBAC, as required
- Assess the relevance and strength of intelligence information and recommend avenues for further investigation into identified persons and organisations of interest, as appropriate
- Manage information collection and handling within guidelines and relevant legislation
- Monitor and evaluate incoming information to assist in the identification of trends and patterns, and prepare detailed reports and graphical or other representations of data, as required

Please note: this position is based in Melbourne, Victoria. The successful candidate must be based in, or intend to relocate to, Victoria.
Our requirements / Your skill set
We are looking for candidates with strong Interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate productively with internal and external clients on sensitive matters are essential. Additionally, the ideal candidate will also:
- Possess contemporary knowledge related to the collection, collation, analysis, and controlled dissemination of information in respect to complex investigations and operations
- Demonstrate high level written and verbal skills in policy and report writing, analysis and briefing
- Have experience in a tactical and operational intelligence and/or investigative environment is essential
- Formal qualifications and/or training in Intelligence or a related field is highly desirable
Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
