Your new role

We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Complaint & Assessment Services (CAS) team as a Complaint & Assessment Officer on a full-time ongoing basis. Reporting to the Manager - CAS, the role will manage a caseload focused on timely assessment of complaints and notifications and will manage more complex and escalated enquiries from a diverse range of areas, including government, private, public and community sectors.

Duties include:

  • Receive enquiries (verbal or written) and make recommendations for further action based on IBAC's policies, procedures, guidelines and relevant legislation.
  • Engage with complainants via telephone, email and formal correspondence in line with IBAC service delivery charter.
  • Assess complaints, notifications and enquiries received by IBAC relating to corruption or serious misconduct by public officers and government bodies, including police personnel conduct.
  • Check to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to resolve enquiries and that information is managed and stored appropriately and ensure that all work complies with legislation, policies and procedures.

Our requirements / Your skill set

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • Experience in using case management and complaints management / handling systems.
  • Significant experience in responding to Government enquiries
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in Assessments

Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
