Your new role

The Senior Strategic Advisor to the IBAC CEO is responsible for providing a range of high-level executive and project support including strategic advice, preparing high quality documents, developing critical relationships, and implementing strategies to enable the achievement of the organisation's strategic objectives.

The role requires a problem-solver and systems thinker to identify and address strategic challenges and opportunities, helping the CEO make informed decisions.

As a key part of the executive leadership team, you will be a self-starter who thrives on a challenge, has strong interpersonal skills, has an empathetic approach and leads in line with IBAC's values.

Duties and responsibilities are set out in the position description, and include:

  • provide timely and expert advice to the CEO on issues pertaining to government, organisational strategy and key projects
  • develop comprehensive and accurate briefs and prepare high quality documents at short notice
  • research, analyse and evaluate complex, sensitive or emerging issues and provide options to IBAC's CEO and broader leader team for decision.
  • provide advice and action requests on current and emerging issues in a responsive and concise manner
  • oversee and ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Office of the CEO including timely management of issues by priority, and
  • maintain constructive and collaborative relationships, on behalf of the CEO, with key senior employees and stakeholders

Our requirements / Your skill set:

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • an understanding of the key issues impacting on IBAC, particularly within legislative, social, political, and industrial frameworks
  • consistent sound judgement and ethical behaviour in making and influencing quality decisions and in developing innovative solutions, and
  • an ability to appropriately deal with sensitive and highly confidential information with integrity, respect, tact, discretion, and exercise professional judgment at all times.
