Position Details
- Assess liquor licence applications and guide fair, safe decisions.
- Work with laws that shape Victoria's nightlife and community safety.
- Help people understand rules and get clear, timely answers.
- Grow your skills in regulation, analysis and decision making.
- Fixed-term, full-time role until 28th April 2027, earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus super.
What you will do
As senior licensing officer, you will assess liquor licence applications and support sound decisions.
You will work with others to keep licensed venues safe and compliant.
You will:
- review and assess applications for risk and complexity
- process and determine low to medium risk applications under legislation
- monitor industry activity and follow up issues
- prepare clear letters, briefs and reports
- guide licensing officers and support their work.
About you
You have experience working with legislation and can apply it in daily work. You understand the liquor regulation system or can learn it quickly.
You should also have:
- strong legal interpretation skills
- clear communication for different audiences
- sound problem solving and judgement
- a team focus with respect for diverse views.
