About us
COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) is responsible for Victoria's COVID-19 accommodation response, including:
• mandatory quarantine for returned overseas travellers
• emergency accommodation for people that cannot safely isolate/quarantine in their usual accommodation.
The Victorian Chief Health Officer has mandated that all returning overseas travellers arriving in Victoria must go into mandatory quarantine for 14 days from the day of their arrival to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
In addition, CQV is responsible for the operation of Victoria's emergency accommodation program for community members and their close contacts who have tested positive for COVID-19 and where an assessment has concluded that there are no other suitable alternative accommodation options for self-isolation.
Infection control and prevention is the primary objective of the mandatory quarantine and emergency accommodation programs.
About the role
As the Director, Safety and Wellbeing, you will be responsible for:
- leading and managing a branch within the workplace safety and wellbeing initiatives to effectively promote a values-based culture of achievement and respect and a common sense of purpose in line with strategic direction
- leading the Health, Safety and Wellbeing, functions for CQV
- driving the delivery of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Program to ensure that it is meeting its strategic priorities and obligations towards its employees, clients and stakeholders
- developing a systemic approach to compliance management.
This role will be the key driver in fostering a dynamic and productive workforce culture.
About you
As the Director, Safety and Wellbeing, you will possess:
- highly developed conceptual and analytical skills and a proven ability to provide authoritative advice on complex social policy matters which are clear, exhaustive, and provide strong support for a preferred position or action
- an exceptional track record in the provision of expert and strategic advice and leadership in the development and implementation of policies, strategies, programs and operational frameworks designed to ensure the coordinated and strategic delivery of government services
- extensive experience across the areas of workplace safety and/or legal reform
- high level experience and achievement in developing and delivering integrated, innovative and timely corporate budget, resource management and business planning strategies and related activities within a complex, diverse and sensitive program delivery environment.
An appropriate relevant tertiary qualification in safety management is a requirement of the position.
