About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced lawyer to join our Sunshine office. You will be responsible for delivering quality legal aid services by appearing as a duty lawyer in various courts and tribunals, to effectively advocate for legal aid clients. You will conduct casework in criminal law, family violence and other related matters when required. You will also assist in developing strategies to improve client services, and participate in community legal education projects as required.
You will have substantial knowledge and experience in criminal law and intervention order matters. You will have extensive in-court advocacy experience, strong dispute resolution skills and proficiency in handling complex case work. Crucial to your success in this role will be your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective professional relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels. You will also demonstrate a willingness to uphold and promote Victoria Legal Aid's vision and values.
