About the role:
You will work with a team of legal assistants to provide a wide range of legal administration support to our lawyers relating to civil, criminal and family law matters. You will also assist legal aid clients with general enquiries and work with external legal practitioners and community legal centres to ensure the needs of our clients are met. Other duties will include but are not limited to; email, diary management and bookings, maintaining client database and case management system, reception duties and general administrative duties.
This position is part time (0.8FTE) working an 8 day fortnight and the successful candidate will have the option to negotiate work days between Monday to Friday.
You have experience providing administrative and client services in a complex and sensitive environment with the ability to produce quality administrative work with limited direction. You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with an excellent track record of maintaining a high standard of work and working effectively with colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment. Experience working within the Family Violence/Family Law jurisdiction is desirable but not essential.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and sound problem-solving skills with the capacity to engage people and build mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute to the promotion of our organisation's vision and values.
