About the role: We are seeking applications from experienced lawyers to join Victoria Legal Aid in improving the lives of disadvantaged Victorians by providing high quality legal aid services to clients in our Goulburn region. Based at our Shepparton office, you will appear as an advocate in various courts and tribunals, providing high quality legal services representation, casework and advice services primarily in family law, family violence and other related matters. The varied and interesting work mix of a regional office will allow you to accelerate the development of your advocacy skills.
About you: As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in providing quality legal services, predominately in family law and family violence matters.
- Effective casework and advocacy skills, including highly developed skills in dispute resolution.
- An understanding of the role of external organisations, private practitioners, community, and welfare groups in the delivery of legal aid services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment.
