About the role:
We are seeking a Lawyer to join our team in providing high quality legal aid services to clients across the South Coast region of Victoria.

In this role you will appear as an advocate in various courts and tribunals serviced by Victoria Legal Aid's Warrnambool team, providing high quality legal services representation, casework and advice services. The varied and interesting work mix of a regional office will allow you to accelerate the development of your advocacy skills.

You will also have the opportunity to broaden your impact in the region by actively contributing to the development of strategies to improve client services and participating in community legal education projects.

About you:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in providing quality legal services, predominately in criminal law and family violence related matters.
  • Effective casework and advocacy skills, including highly developed skills in dispute resolution.
  • An understanding of the role of external organisations, private practitioners, community and welfare groups in the delivery of legal aid services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and your demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment.
