About the role:
The legal assistant role in the Ringwood office will support a busy team of lawyers and administrative staff in dealing with a wide range of matters including family law, family violence, civil and criminal law.

Some of your duties will include reception and triage services both in the office and at court locations. You may also be required to prepare family law legal documents, filing documents on Commonwealth Courts portal, word processing, data entry, file management and other general administrative duties.

You will also be required to assist legal aid clients with general enquiries and work with other legal practitioners and community legal centres to ensure the needs of our clients are met.

About you:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Highly proficient word processing skills, file management skills, and demonstrated experience in providing client service within a sensitive and complex environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a wide range of clients including clients socially and economically disadvantaged, and sound problem solving skills to ensure clients' needs are met.
  • High attention to detail, ability to prioritise workload and to manage multiple demands simultaneously while working under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to the promotion of our organisation and its values.
