Position Details

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses who have recently completed their graduate year to take part in our Registered Nurse Transition Program in 2019. 

The Registered Nurse Transition Program provides a great opportunity for nurses to consolidate their nursing skills and strengthen their knowledge and nursing practice in their allocated departments. 

The Registered Nurse Transition Program operates over 12 months and generally consists of 2 rotations.  Nursing areas that may be available include Emergency, Oncology Medical, Surgical Rehabilitation, Paediatrics & Palliative Care and Home Based Services.  Nursing areas and eft available for 2019 will be confirmed at a later stage.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Graduate Progra
  • Proven understanding of and commitment to providing patient centred care and the provision of excellent customer service
  • Good clinical assessment and care planning skills commensurate with scope of practice
  • A sound understanding of discharge planning and early referral to support services
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Recent nursing experience
  • Competence in acute clinical nursing
