Position Details

An opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team in this casual position. 

The position will provide therapy for clients that promotes, maintains and assists recovery and independence in all aspects of daily living, at home, work, and in the community. The therapist will coordinate and ensure the delivery of quality, cost effective and efficient Occupational Therapy services to community clients.  

The Department provides services to acute and rehabilitation inpatients, outpatients, community groups, lymphoedema and hand therapy client and is supported by a team of Allied Health Assistants who facilitate groups, support ongoing inpatient therapy and home based programs. The Occupational Therapy department values a multidisciplinary, integrated approach and works closely with other members of the health team.

The successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Eligibility for registration as an Occupational Therapist in Victoria
  • Demonstrated ability to provide patient centred care and goal focused interventions in Occupational Therapy in an inpatient sub acute environment with flexibility to meet the needs of service demands.
  • Pro-active, clear and concise communication skills which promote service and client interests.
  • Good organizational and time management skills that enable efficient prioritization of case load and management of competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement projects and organizational initiatives. 
  • Ability to participate as an effective and collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, contributing to care coordination and facilitation of discharge planning with a focus on client focused goals.
  • Proven ability to facilitate change processes and contribute to the development of a co-operative organizational culture
  • Ability to identify and apply evidence based practice.
