Position Details

STATUS:            Ongoing, Part Time

HOURS:             32.0 hours per fortnight


Applications are invited from motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Workers to join our Aged Care team in this permanent part time position.  (This role was previously known as Personal Care Attendant).

In this role you will provide exceptional care of our frail, elderly residents of Maddocks Gardens ensuring a safe, secure and happy living environment.  You will assist residents with activities of daily living whilst encouraging them to maximise their potential for independence and quality of life. 

The successful applicant will have a great work ethic, the proven ability to work effectively within our multidisciplinary Aged Care team and a passion for providing excellent care to our residents.  A key requirement of this role is flexibility to work over a 7 day roster and perform a variety of shifts.


The ideal applicants will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of Certificate 3 in Aged Care or Individual Support
  • Dementia specific experience and knowledge would be an advantage
  • Proven ability to provide a high level of person centred care in a proactive manner
  • Empathy and compassion for the elderly with a willingness and ability to advocate for their best interests
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with a wide range of people, including co-workers, health professionals, residents and family members
  • Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to successfully prioritise tasks
  • An understanding of accreditation standards, ACFI and continuous improvement
  • Basic computer skills with a willingness to learn relevant computer programs and IT systems
