About the role

South West Healthcare's Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement (HOPE) Program is seeking applications from experienced Psychiatric Enrolled Nurses to join their multi-disciplinary team. The PEN position provides recovery orientated and trauma informed mental health assessment and treatment to consumers, family and carers across the South West Mental Health catchment and surrounding regions.

The role delivers treatment and care to consumers engaged with the HOPE Program to help resolve or relieve emotional distress and participating in community consultation, awareness and psycho-education activities under the supervision of the manager. The team works together with Wellways staff to provide and coordinate mental health care, along with conducting mental state examinations, psychosocial and community based assessments.

While the position presently works predominately during normal business hours, a portion of work will also occur during weekends and public holidays.

Position Overview:

  • Permanent part time (64 hours per fortnight)
  • Salary range: $74,703 - 79,684 per annum, plus superannuation

What you bring

As an experienced Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse you will have demonstrated sound level of nursing skills, experience and skills in mental health clinical services and proven ability to work within a team multi-disciplinary model and the ability to work within safe practice principles.

Working as part of a collaborative and highly skilled team of professionals, excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential, and a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of recovery orientated practices and trauma informed care in relation to the role is a must.

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse is essential.
