What you will do
As senior budget and finance analyst, you will lead a team of finance professionals. You will provide clear financial advice across the department and support strong budget planning.
You will:
- lead skilled finance staff to prepare budget and Cabinet submissions
- provide clear advice on budgets, forecasts, procurement and financial risks
- complete complex financial analysis and help leaders make sound decisions
- manage key month-end tasks, including accruals, journals, prepayments and capital reports
- find practical ways to improve financial systems, skills and outcomes.
About you
A relevant qualification in policy, strategy or finance is desirable. You will also need strong experience in public sector policy and financial management.
You should also have:
- strong analytical and research skills, with sound financial problem-solving skills
- flexibility to adapt quickly when priorities, systems or situations change
- clear communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive issues
- people leadership skills that build capability, trust and strong financial practice.
