  • At least three (3) ongoing and possible fixed-term roles in the Tax Advisory and Review Branch, Policy, Advisory and Legal Services Division
  • Salary $100,894 plus 12% superannuation – VPS Grade 4
  • Based in Melbourne CBD, with hybrid working arrangements.

The opportunity

The Senior Tax Advisory/Review Officer role is responsible for dealing with challenging state tax objections and ruling requests from external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Senior Tax Advisory/Review Officer will be responsible for:

  • Effectively managing a file portfolio of medium complexity objections and/or private rulings across all revenue lines
  • Participating in the development and implementation of revenue reforms
  • Opportunities to provide training and development to junior staff and contribute to development of external tax technical materials

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in meeting quality and output performance targets in a complex legal and commercial environment
  • The ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and legal research experience
  • High level communication skills (interpersonal, verbal and written)
