About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria. The People Safety, Culture and Communications (PSCC) group provides a range of services across the employee lifecycle to ensure the department has a workforce that is flexible, highly skilled, safe and representative of the community it serves. PSCC is responsible for human resources, payroll, recruitment, occupational health and safety, industrial relations, learning and development, diversity and inclusion and employment regulations.
The Transformation, Development and Capability business unit is responsible for transformation and learning and development to support employees.
About the Role
The Coordinator Learning & Capability is a member of the Learning and Capability team, within Transformation, Development and Capability. The Coordinator Learning & Capability is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of training and other activities to Youth Justice staff. This includes providing onboarding training, continued professional development, refresher training and emerging training requirements.
Some of your duties will include:
- Scheduling and Coordinating to meet the annual learning plan for Custody, Community and other staff training
- Working closely with trainers to ensure all logistical aspects are delivered according to systems and process, such as securing training venues, materials, and technology requirements
- Complete administration functions, such as resource preparation, reporting, procurement and other administrative functions.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Proficiency in managing and coordinating training activities, including scheduling, tracking attendance, and maintaining comprehensive records
- Advanced skills in software including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project), Nexus and PowerBI
- Skilled in using learning management systems (LMS), ideally Nexus, to facilitate reporting and compliance tracking and improve data quality
- Experience in compiling detailed compliance records, with the ability to monitor and communicate training gaps, risks, and operational safety concerns.
Qualifications:
- A qualification in one of the following: Certificate IV Training and Assessment, Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, or Diploma of Training Design and Development (or equivalent)
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
- A current driver's licence is required due to the need to work across different locations.
