About this role
The Senior Risk Officer will implement and maintain the Statewide risk and contingency planning function within Recycling Victoria. This will include development of processes and guidelines to support risk, consequence and contingency planning for the circular economy market, and co-ordination of responsibility entity documentation, in accordance with legislative provisions.
Some of the duties will include
- Develop, maintain and publish guidelines to assist responsibility entities to assess their applicability to the legislation and complete Risk, Consequence and Contingency plans.
- Develop arrangements to enable responsibility entities to submit their Risk, Consequence and Contingency plans and Statements of Assurance to the Head, Recycling Victoria.
- Provide support to industry to help compliance with legislative requirements for Risk, Consequence and Contingency planning and identification of their role as a responsibility entity.
- Develop, maintain and share Recycling Victoria protocols and processes, including training, to manage responsibility entities' risk planning documentation.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in and/or knowledge of key issues, policy and programs relating to Victoria's circular economy and the waste and recycling sector is advantageous.
- A sound understanding of risk management, particularly in the public sector, including knowledge and experience with the structure of government and its policy and decision-making processes.
- Experience with Victorian government briefing systems and processes in accordance with Victorian Public Sector requirements and requests is highly desirable.
This is a fixed term position available until 26 May 2026. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available
