About this role
Do you want to protect and enforce laws pertaining to our natural resources, public land environments and wildlife?
As a Forest and Wildlife Officer you will play an important role in monitoring compliance with relevant laws, investigating alleged breaches of these laws and taking enforcement action where appropriate. In addition, you will also contribute to the spectrum of compliance programs including education, engagement, inspections and assessments, monitoring and enforcing compliance. Officers contribute to delivering service excellence and a safety culture within the Regulator.
You will also encourage voluntary compliance through educating the community about the laws governing biodiversity, public land and wildlife in Victoria.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated analytical and investigative skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of conservation regulatory legislation, policy and the planning and delivery of compliance operations.
- Certificate IV in government investigations (or an equivalent qualification) and/or experience in the application of environmental regulation is highly desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is negotiable between Wodonga, Benalla or Toolangi with hybrid work arrangements available.
