Position Details

Are you an experienced Mental Health Clinician looking for flexible, casual work? South West Healthcare is seeking a passionate and qualified Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Referral Services team on a casual basis.

In this casual role, you'll provide specialist mental health assessments, interventions, and consultations to clients presenting to our Emergency Department (ED). You'll play a key role in coordinating access to inpatient mental health beds, including arranging out-of-area options when local beds are unavailable, while ensuring compliance with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.

You will work closely with Senior Clinicians, the ED team, Ambulance Victoria, and Victoria Police to deliver timely, compassionate care, especially for clients with complex or co-occurring needs.

Position Overview

  • Casual Position - Covering ADO's and planned leave 
  • Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Occupational Therapist Grade 3, Social Worker Grade 3, or Psychologist Grade 3
  • Salary Range: $62.26 - $78.38 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)

What You Bring
We are looking for qualified clinicians who are confident, collaborative, and ready to hit the ground running.

You will need:

  • Occupational Therapist: AHPRAH Registered with at least 7 years' experience in Mental Health
  • Psychologist: AHPRAH Registered with at least 7 years' experience in Mental Health
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse: AHPRA registered with at least 5 years' experience in mental health
  • Social Worker: Eligibility for AASW membership and at least 7 years' experience in mental health

You will also bring:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative, team orientated approach
  • Confidence working in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments
