About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists within South West Healthcare's Mental Health and Wellbeing Services for a committed and passionate clinician to join us in the role of Perinatal Emotional Health Program (PEHP) Worker on a part-time, fixed-term basis.
As a key member of the PEHP team you will work to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of women and families throughout the perinatal period—from conception to 12 months postpartum. This role involves managing a caseload and delivering short to medium-term care for individuals impacted by perinatal mental health concerns.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with a range of services including Midwifery, Maternal & Child Health (MCH), GPs, and other primary care providers. You will provide coordination, consultation, and support to these services regarding referral, assessment, and treatment, while also engaging with community networks to promote service integration and mental health awareness.
Position overview
- Part Time, Fixed Term (16 hours per fortnight) until 12 April 2026
- Location: Warrnambool Campus - While the position is based in Warrnambool, applications are encouraged from staff based in Camperdown, Hamilton, and Portland, where PEHP demand is also growing.
- Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurses Grade 4, Allied Health Professional Grade 3,
- Salary Range: $101,597.60 - $121,477.20
What you Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional registration (AHPRA or relevant association) in Nursing, Midwifery, Mental Health, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Social Work.
- Extensive experience (4-7+ years) in mental health or specialist services, including perinatal mental health and working with mothers and babies.
- Strong clinical skills in mental health treatment and psychological support.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment with initiative and innovation.
- Sound understanding of current mental health trends, legislation, and policy.
