About the Role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is looking for a qualified and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join the Warrnambool Adult Mental Health Team. The Adult Mental Health team perform a critical role in providing recovery oriented and trauma informed assessment and treatment utilising natural and existing community supports.
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will play a key role in supporting individuals experiencing mental illness or significant psychological distress, as well as their families, carers, and loved ones. Utilising individual biological, psychological, and social interventions tailored to each person's unique needs and goals. You will provide valuable support to both the wider team and management while ensuring comprehensive care and assistance is available when needed most.
Position overview
- Full time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO, Fixed term parental leave position until January 2026. Part time applicants may be considered.

- Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist Grade 2 or Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse Level 3
Salary Range:
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3: $100,932.00 - $112,091.20 pro rata, plus superannuation
- Occupational Therapist Grade 2: $88,030.80 - $101,197.20 pro rata, plus superannuation
- Social Worker Grade 2: $88,030.80 - $101,197.20 pro rata, plus superannuation
- Psychologist Grade 2: $94,478.80 - $106,906.80 pro rata, plus superannuation
- Provisional Psychologist Grade 1: $62,535.20 - $90,922.00 pro rata, plus superannuation
- Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse Level 3: $75,826.40 - $80,880.80 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
- The successful applicant will have the ability to demonstrate excellent skills and broad experience in mental health clinical services, including a proven ability to work within a team based multi-disciplinary model.
- A working knowledge of Recovery Oriented practices, trauma informed care, current mental health trends, legislation and relevant policy directions of mental health services is also essential for this role.
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team, as well as an ability to work with limited direction, be self-motivated, and provide effective problem-solving and negotiation skills is a must.
