About the Role:
South West Healthcare (SWH) is currently inviting applications for Emergency Medicine (ED) Registrar positions for 2025/2026.
As an ED Registrar, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality emergency care to our patients.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating clinical activities within the ED and collaborating closely with other hospital departments and services.
You will work under the guidance of the Director of Emergency Medicine, Specialist ED Consultants, and GP Supervisors. The role also involves supervising junior clinical staff and providing both formal and informal teaching opportunities.
About South West Healthcare ED:
- We manage approximately 27,000 patient presentations annually, with a 20% admission rate.
- SWH is a tier 2 non-major referral centre accredited for 24 months of emergency medicine training.
- We see over 5,000 paediatric cases each year and hold paediatric logbook accreditation.
- Our ED is a regional trauma centre managing major trauma cases from road, farm, and industrial incidents.
- The department is supported by a wide range of specialties, including Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Psychiatry, ICU, Plastics, Orthopaedics, Geriatrics, General Surgery, and Medicine.
- Our consultant team includes FACEMs, sports medicine specialists, and GP anaesthetists, supported by skilled nurse practitioners.
- You will gain experience managing a broad spectrum of patient presentations and acuity levels.
