The Philanthropy Lead is a full-time ongoing VPS 4.1 position responsible for the annual suite of member and donor appeal activities for the Library. The role provides a frontline service for donors and members and ensures that gifts and memberships are processed and receipted quickly. The position plays a central role in maintaining data integrity in the customer relationship management system (Salesforce). The Philanthropy Lead generates lists from the database for use in appeals and events, and handles sensitive data and documents in line with Library and government business policies and practices.
The Philanthropy Lead is accountable for the following measurable outcomes:
- Developing and delivering member and appeal campaigns
- Quality assurance of mailout lists and continuously improving process and data quality
- Analysis and reporting on giving and retention to identify growth opportunities
- High quality service, resolving any giving or payment issues faced by donors/members
- Ensuring gifts and memberships are receipted and recorded correctly on Salesforce
- Maintaining data integrity for donor and member records
- Logistical support for / attendance at donor and member events
- Inbox management and email correspondence for the Philanthropic Programs team
- Contributing to team culture through positive, inclusive collaboration
About You
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of philanthropic giving, however transferable skills from coordinating marketing or sales campaigns would also be considered. Your critical thinking ability and capacity to discern when something needs further action inform how you manage data. Your service orientation and tactfulness support your approach to stakeholder engagement. Crucially, your attention to detail and capacity to plan, coordinate and organise projects to ensure targets are achieved are already well-developed capabilities within your skillset.
In addition, you will come to us with:
- Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, communications or marketing
- Demonstrated experience in planning, organising and executing fundraising campaigns
- Proven experience in meeting fundraising targets and overseeing financial receipting
- An understanding of donor lifecycle pipeline development and stewardship
- The ability to write compellingly for different audiences
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases for campaigns, tracking donor information and interactions
- Time management and project management skills
