About the Role

As a Head Chef/Food Services Supervisor at MHS, you will provide leadership and manage the catering services, ensuring the residents, clients and patients are provided with a variety of nutritious meals. 

The Head Chef/Food Services Supervisor ensures delivery of food services in a cost effective, innovative model that aligns with the Food Safety plan and all relevant standards. 

You will strive to make the food service innovative and compliant, whilst driving change where necessary. 

The Head Chef/Food Services Supervisor will work closely with the Food Services Manager to ensure the Food Service complies with the new Aged Care Standards. 

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and 4 years experience working in a commercial kitchen, with extensive experience in food preparation and presentation. 
  • Food Safety Supervisor Health Compentencies: HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005, HLTFSE007

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Extensive experience in food preparation & presentation
  • Experience in supervision, management and rostering of a team of food services staff
  • Menu Planning experience
  • Ability to monitor and deliver high level quality customer service
  • Well-developed prioritisation, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to delegate work to other as required
  • Ability to lead by example and mentor staff
  • Experience in the day to day management of a commercial kitchen and its operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word & Excel
