About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) have an exciting community engagement project role on offer for a 12 month period. This role will be key to supporting the implementation of the strategy, roadmap and implementation action plan that underpins the overarching Community and Consumer Engagement Strategy, to bring the Strategy to life and achieve the intended objectives.

Position overview

This role is a 12 month fixed term, full time role (80 hours per fortnight) including an Accrued Day Off each month (ADO). The role will be predominately based at the Warrnambool Campus with the need to engage with our communities across all SWH campus locations.

As highlighted above, key to this role 12-month role will be the development and implementation of systems that promote and embed meaningful community and consumer participation and engagement across SWH in a sustainable manner. Participation and contribution to the Consumer Experience Committee objectives will be an important aspect of the role.  The successful candidate will also be required to, identify key stakeholder groups to support the overarching strategy and promote and engage the community networks to ensure success, providing monitoring reports to capture same.

What you bring

To be the successful applicant you will have demonstrated experience in community engagement projects or roles, and a proven track record of developing and successfully achieving operational and strategic planned outcomes. You will bring a strong understanding of principles and practices of person centred care and consumer participation in health, excellent verbal and written communication and advanced interpersonal skills. Experience in engaging, communicating and managing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including consumer representatives and clinicians will be essential.
