Library Media Monitoring Officer

Parliamentary Library

  • PoV 3.2 $89,292 – $96,073 plus 12% superannuation
  • Fixed-term, full-time (9 months)
  • Location: Melbourne CBD

The Parliamentary Library team delivers high-quality, client-focused information services to Members of Parliament, Electorate Officers, and parliamentary staff. Their work includes research, inquiries, media monitoring and managing collections such as databases, heritage and cultural resources, ensuring timely, accurate and impartial access to information

During a typical day you will:

  • Deliver timely, accurate, and impartial responses to news media and information requests.
  • Work on the Enquiries Desk as rostered, providing front-line client services to Members of Parliament and Parliamentary staff.
  • Manage and enhance the library's media monitoring and metadata management systems.
  • Liaise with service providers to maintain news media profiles and deliver content.
  • Provide training and support for clients using Library platforms and databases.

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is responsible for the provision of infrastructure resources and support services to Members of Parliament and the Parliamentary Departments. What happens next

Candidates may be contacted throughout the advertising process with those shortlisted proceeding through to an initial phone interview.

From here successful candidates will be invited to an interview conducted by a selection panel. This interview may take place in our offices located in the Melbourne CBD or online.

Preferred candidates will be asked to undertake reference and probity checks and psychometric testing, which we use to inform your development in the first 6 months of your role.
