Allied Health Assistant - Physiotherapy

  • Employment Type: Part Time (up to 40 hours per fortnight), On-going position

  • Salary: $62,540.40 pro rata, plus superannuation

About the role

South West Healthcare's Physiotherapy Department is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join our friendly and collaborative team.

In this rewarding role, you will work alongside Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, and other Allied Health Professionals to support patients and clients of South West Healthcare across hospital, home and community-based programs. You will complete tasks by delegation and may assist with individual and group treatment sessions, help patients with movement and mobilisation, support and supervise exercise programs, deliver patient education and monitor and provide feedback on progress under the guidance of experienced clinicians.

What You Bring

We are seeking a team player who is eager to learn and who is passionate about supporting Allied Health Clinicians to optimise the treatment and therapy available to clients and patients. You will bring:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  • An appreciation of the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients and clients undertaking rehabilitation or living with complex health needs
  • Confidence with administration and computer systems
  • An understanding of delegation principles and scope of practice
  • The ability to follow directions, show initiative, and work effectively in a team
  • A current driver's licence
  • Experience as an Allied Health Assistant and exposure to aged care, disability, or hospital rehabilitation settings will be highly regarded.
