About the Business Unit:
Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination Group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system, as well as direct service provision through a range of programs including the Victims of Crime Helpline, Victims Register and the Victims Assistance Program.
The National Redress Scheme Operations Team sits within the VSSR branch and is the central coordination point for the Victorian Government's participation in the National Redress Scheme for people who have experienced Institutional Child Sexual Abuse (National Redress Scheme).
The National Redress Scheme:
- acknowledges that many children were sexually abused in Australian institutions
- holds institutions accountable for this abuse, and
- helps people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse gain access to counselling, a direct personal response, and a Redress payment.
About the Role:
The Senior Program Advisor will work collaboratively with stakeholders within the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments focusing on the participation of the Victorian Government in the National Redress Scheme.
Some of your duties will include:
- Managing complex projects to support the whole of Government coordination of the National Redress Scheme, including managing secretariat services for committees and working groups
- Preparing high-quality advice and analysis to influence decisions of relevant governance bodies, including interdepartmental and interjurisdictional committees and working groups
- Assisting with the management and coordination of the Victorian Government's participation in the National Redress Scheme, including reading applications for redress and allocating the applications to the responsible institution, completing templates for information requests, monitoring applications received, reviewing responses, updating databases to track information, and analysing data.
This position commences on 1st December 2025.

- Demonstrated project and program management experience, including the ability to achieve objectives within tight timeframes
- Demonstrated skills in the use of data to inform project management including good working knowledge and experience in using Microsoft excel
- Proven analytical skills with a strong focus on attention to detail.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience and/or a tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
