About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a qualified Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology to join our Pharmacy team. This role will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients and areas. The Clinical Pharmacist will support the Manager of Pharmacy Cancer Services with clinical and manufacturing oncology processes, including clinical trials.
This position will be an addition to the current Pharmacy Cancer Services team which currently consists of the Manager, a pharmacy technician and another rotational pharmacist. This busy area manages manufacturing and clinical services to the Day Oncology Unit, which averages around 15 patient treatments per day, Monday to Thursday each week. Additional duties include outpatient cancer medication supply, chemotherapy protocols and shorter rotations to other hospital areas.
Position overview
- Employment Type: Full-time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO, On-going position
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Pharmacist Grade 2
- Salary Range: $94,478.80 - $106,906.80 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
Essential:
- Full Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA) registration with no restrictions to scope of practice
- Demonstrated hospital and clinical pharmacy experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Capacity to provide education and support to interns, undergraduate, and postgraduate students
Desirable
- Experience in oncology pharmacy, including chemotherapy compounding
- Understanding of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), particularly Highly Specialised Drugs (HSD) and chemotherapy
- Familiarity with the CHARM chemotherapy prescribing program
- Experience using iPharmacy dispensing software
