People, Safety, Culture and Communications core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural, and people matters, including human resources policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment, and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations.
Employee and Workplace Relations is responsible for management of the Justice portfolio's industrial relations program, the management of departmental employee relations issues including employee conduct, the department's Human Resource Business Partnerships and also administers the internal review of actions process.
About the Role:
Reporting to a Senior HR Business Partner, you will focus on delivering outcomes and managing complex employee related issues, working within the Workplace Behaviours Framework and providing authoritative, expert and strategic advice to executive members and senior managers of your client group and other key stakeholders.
You will work collaboratively with a client group to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions in relation to HR Matters, including Workplace Behaviour Reports, performance, safety and wellbeing, employee and workplace relations, culture and change activities.
Some of your duties will include:
- Undertaking complex case management with a focus on early intervention by providing authoritative, expert and strategic advice, coaching and support to an assigned client group on people issues including probation, performance and conduct, ill health and fitness for duty and conflict in accordance with relevant policies and processes, legislation and industrial awards.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and become a trusted advisor on complex strategic issues.
- Identifying new opportunities where People, Safety and Culture can add value to the business to build capability in the area of people management, workforce planning, diversity, culture and engagement and OH&S.

About You:
As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in case managing a range of complex people matters, with specialist knowledge of employee and industrial relations.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in the provision of high-level strategic advice and support to executive management.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering and developing people management capability resulting in improved people outcomes and positive organisational culture.
- Experience in the provision of HR services in a large complex organisation.
Qualifications:
- A qualification in human resources, organisational development, business and/or other relevant fields.
