The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) is responsible for the supervision of children and young people in the Victorian criminal justice system. Youth Justice is responsible for overseeing services within custody and the community that respond to children and young people in the system, and for delivering strategic outcomes to address youth crime and reduce offending.
The Performance and Evaluation team within the System Performance and Workforce Support unit, is responsible for generating analytical insights, monitoring service performance and outcomes, performance reporting and system planning to promote whole of system accountability to improve outcomes of young people and the community.
The Opportunity
- Fixed term, full-time position until 31 December 2026 based in Melbourne.
- VPS Grade 5 role: $113,022 - $136,747 per year plus superannuation
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify program needs and support the design of system change.
- Review legislation, policies and guidelines to identify and plan system changes.
- Collaborate with technical experts and non-technical staff to implement system and process changes.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience using, and knowledge of, case management systems and the ability to identify system features that are not aligned with current practice.
- The ability to review legislation and policies and synthesise information.
- Knowledge and understanding of youth justice case management.
- Youth Justice operational experience is required.
