About the Business Unit:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
Technology Solutions and Data Security is delivering the Data and Digital Reform Agenda, which focuses on meeting the department's data and digital needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes.
Technology Services and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department's business function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and overseas the delivering of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.
About the Role:
The Solutions Engineer will focus on the technical aspects of building and maintaining the development and implementation, providing input to systems design and common functional services within the project, using appropriate methodologies and tools
Some of your duties will include:
- Developing and maintaining the technical solution roadmap, ensuring it is holistic in scope, and time framed, and aligns with business objectives
- Providing advice for ICT investments and adhering with architectural direction to support BTTER program goals and long-term organisational capability
- Leading the design, development and delivery of the solution, and common functional services, ensuring the use of industry standards methodologies and tools.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Proven architectural and senior design expertise across multiple information systems and technology architecture domains.
- Expert knowledge and demonstrate experience in:
- information systems and technology used in the architecture, design, development, and operational management of complex large-scale ICT projects.
- creating technology architecture and information system specifications
- creating business architecture deliverables including principles registers, capability models, business metrics and user journey maps.
- Understanding of Cloud technologies such as Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure.
- understanding relational databases, ETL, data migration, integration and data quality.
- a range of waterfall, agile, and develops methodologies.
- Strong understanding of ICT governance and service management processes. This includes an ability to demonstrate an understanding of process frameworks such as ITIL and governance frameworks such as King III, ISO31000, COSO or COBIT.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in ICT or a business discipline or preferably both would be highly regarded.
- Cloud Certification – Oracle Cloud, AWS would be highly regarded
- Accreditation in, or a working knowledge of, frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, BiZBoK, Gartner, Zachman or similar would be highly regarded.
