The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Service Transition Manager to provide a critical role within Emergency Management Technology and Data team.
About the Business Unit
Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, Sector Performance and Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency.
EM Technology and Data is responsible for both national and state technology platforms that enable communications to and from the community, sector operational communications and sector information systems. The EM Technology business unit is responsible for delivering the following the key functions of:
- Strategy & Enterprise Architecture;
- Investment Planning;
- Support & Development;
- Procurement & Program Delivery;
- Vendor & Contract Management;
About the Role
Some of your duties will include:
- Develop and maintain service transition documents including transition plans, schedules and post-implementation reviews.
- Oversee the implementation of the transition plan, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
- Identify and manage risks associated with the transition and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead the change management activities by communicating progress, risk and timelines to stakeholders and to the internal business unit subject matter experts.
- Act as the primary point between various stakeholders, including project teams, business units and organisations, to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Manage readiness through assessments, training and support , and ensures that transitioned services meet acceptance criteria.
- Is familiar with the ITIL framework and its role in technical transition management

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in a Service Transition Manager role.
- Program/Project Management experience in large, complex enterprises.
Qualifications/requirements
- ITIL Certification
- Qualifications in Project Management (Diploma, PMBOK, PRINCE2 or AGILE).
