About the Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager Volunteer Programs, the Volunteer Program Officer is accountable for the daily operations of the Library's Volunteer Program. This position will be responsible for a broad range of activities to support the Volunteer Program, including but not limited to:
- Development of rosters that balance program requirements with flexibility for volunteers
- Providing regular updates, training and feedback to volunteers through various channels, including emails, meetings and coordinating events
- Providing supervision and acting as primary contact for all volunteer-related matters
- Management of the volunteer management platform (Better Impact) and provision of regular data to inform reporting.
Working for the Library, you will have access to behind-the-scenes spaces and opportunities to attend exclusive previews of exhibitions.
About You
We value the communications skillset you will bring, and your ability to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation. Your strong administrative skills will support you in prioritising multiple activities and you demonstrate sound problem-solving skills. For success in this position, you will be innovative in your thinking and contribute your ideas on program operations.
In addition, you will come to us with:
- Experience in the development and supervision of staff or volunteers
- Demonstrated experience rostering and coordinating team activities to provide an excellent visitor experience
- Prior experience working in community services, government, tourism or a relevant sector (a visitor information service/major attraction or landmark cultural institution is preferred)
- Qualifications, or working towards relevant qualifications including Certificate IV in Volunteer Coordination (desirable).
