The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.
The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.
About the Role:
The Senior Strategic Analyst, reporting through the Manager, Budget and Investment, has a significant role in providing financial and non-financial analytical advice, including management of the department's Expenditure Review Committee (ERC) process, contribution to the PAEC, and Annual Reporting processes. This position will also be required to contribute to departmental projects and priorities and may be required to assist in internal performance reporting.
Some of your other duties will include:
- Developing submissions, briefs and responses to Government relating to portfolio or in reply to Parliamentary or Government enquiries.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Undertaking complex financial analysis, advice and reviews at an advanced authoritative level.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in public sector policy and financial management.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical and research skills with an aptitude for problem solving in the context of financial and budget resource management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
