About the Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an interested candidate to backfill a Long Service Leave vacancy within the Planned Surgery Unit (PSU).
This fixed-term, part-time role provides valuable exposure to key components of the elective surgery pathway and offers an excellent professional development opportunity.
Appointment Periods
- 18 May 2026 -9 August 2026 (64 hours per fortnight)
- 10 August 2026- 07 May 2027 (80 hours per fortnight)
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will gain experience across a range of core PSU functions, including:
- Waitlist management and elective surgery processes
- Theatre list construction and coordination in collaboration with specialists
- Engagement with key stakeholders across surgical services
- Patient optimisation prior to surgery
- Supporting improved patient flow and enhancing the perioperative experience
You will be well supported by the PSU team and have the opportunity to gain insight into one of the most critical stages of a patient's perioperative journey. This role offers an excellent professional development opportunity for individuals seeking to broaden their understanding of elective surgery access, coordination, and governance.
