About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking caring and reliable Health Services Assistants to join our team at the new Leura Aged Care facility in Camperdown. Leura Aged Care | South West Healthcare

As we continue to grow and move toward full occupancy, this is an exciting opportunity to join a new service and help build something special from the ground up. Our modern facility features 36 single rooms with private ensuites and is thoughtfully designed to support people living with dementia. It provides a safe, welcoming home for residents and a supportive, collaborative workplace for staff.

In this role, you will support residents with daily care, promoting dignity, comfort, and independence. Working under the direction of nursing staff, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, person centred care. Your responsibilities will include personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, assisting with leisure and lifestyle activities, and supporting daily activities, as well as assisting at mealtimes, including meal setup and feeding where required.

The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe environment through domestic duties and infection control practices. You will observe residents and report any changes in condition, while also supporting their emotional and social wellbeing. A key focus of this role is encouraging independence while always treating residents with respect and kindness.

What you Bring

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), or currently working towards it
  • A good understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) and infection control standards
  • Knowledge or experience in aged care and person centred care
  • Able to work under supervision and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow direction
  • Caring, respectful approach to residents
  • Reliable, professional, and a strong work ethic
  • Committed to confidentiality and professional behaviour
  • Passion for supporting older people with dignity and respect
