About the role
South West Healthcare's (SWH) Mental Health Services Division provides best-practice nursing care for consumers within a recovery-oriented model through comprehensive assessment and clinical planning in a 24/7 inpatient setting.
As an experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to undertake a range of clinical assessments and contribute to the development and implementation of individualised care plans for consumers within the Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (MHAIPU). You will support the development and maintenance of a high-quality care environment, while actively promoting and participating in quality improvement initiatives and service development activities.
What you bring
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in mental health nursing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing professional development of the mental health nursing workforce and support building a future-focused service at SWH.
- A postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing, or completion of a Specialist Undergraduate Psychiatric Nursing Program.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to mentoring, education, training, and professional development of nursing staff, and to work collaboratively with senior nurses and program managers.
- Additional qualifications or experience in education and training are desirable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and contemporary mental health practice.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative and highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
