What you will do
As security officer, you will help protect the department's information and technology systems.
You will provide trusted advice, respond to cyber security incidents and support strong information security across the department.
You will:
- provide specialist cyber security advice and guidance to business areas
- coordinate important audit, assurance and information security activities
- maintain accurate information asset registers and manage security requests
- deliver practical cyber security training, workshops and awareness activities
- prepare clear reports, briefs and incident records while supporting cyber security responses.
About you
Qualifications in IT or cyber security are desirable. You must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance.
You should also have:
sound knowledge of cyber security, information security or protective security frameworks
- strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- clear communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- practical experience responding to security incidents or a willingness to build these skills.
