About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Specialist General Surgeon to join our Surgical Services team at Warrnambool Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality surgical services to the local community and the wider South West region.

The successful applicant will participate in the delivery of general surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care, elective and emergency surgery, clinical assessment and management, and participation in relevant clinical activities and service development.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the surgical, medical, nursing and allied health teams, contributing to safe, effective and patient-centred care.

What you bring

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold FRACS or equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery and be eligible for registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrate broad experience and competence in General Surgery.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality, safe and patient-centred clinical care.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and continuing professional development.
  • Be able to contribute positively to the ongoing development of surgical services within a regional health service.
