The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Executive Assistantto provide a critical role at the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management Victoria.
About the Business Unit
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, is responsible for the overall coordination of the emergency management system in Victoria. EMV drives the integration of policy, strategy, operational coordination, sector specific technology, and planning across Victoria's emergency management sector, contributing to safer, more resilient communities.
EMV works closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio. The organisation is led by the Deputy Secretary & Chief Executive, and Emergency Management Commissioner, and includes oversight of statutory entities and offices and the department's emergency management accountabilities.
About the Role
This role will be perfect for someone looking for a secondment or a shorter-term experience working in a complex and interesting Deputy Secretary's office in the emergency management sector.
Some of your duties will include:
- Lead the provision of high level, confidential secretarial and administrative support to this high level senior executive office, including diary and meeting management, stakeholder liaison, email and travel arrangements.
- Provide high quality assurance and review of incoming briefs and correspondence, amending briefs and liaising with business areas as required.
- Provide advice to the Deputy Secretary on a range of matters, using knowledge of the department, groups and business units, and their priorities.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience in providing executive support and assistance to senior executives within a large, complex organisation.
- Significant experience in working with limited supervision in a sensitive, high pressure and fast paced environment.
Qualifications/requirements
- There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however, a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable.
