About us

The Hume Region delivers a range of services through Justice Service Centres at Wangaratta, Shepparton and Wodonga and Seymour, and at outreach locations in Myrtleford, Benalla, Cobram, Mansfield and Corryong.  The region also has two prisons, the minimum-security Beechworth Correctional Centre and H.M. Prison Dhurringile.

About the role

Located in Beechworth, as the Payroll and Rostering Officer (Justice Officer – Payroll and Rostering) you will be responsible for the coordination of staff to ensure minimum staffing levels are met daily. The role will contribute to the delivery of personnel and payroll services to Hume Region Prisons (HRP) by preparation, maintenance and dissemination of the roster on a fortnightly basis.

The Payroll and Rostering Officer will maintain personnel and payroll records and provide statistical information on staff costing, sick leave, overtime and other relevant areas. The role will also provide support for other Corporate Governance and Support areas. 

Please note: This is a Fixed Term, Part Time role for six months.  The average hours per week will be 19 hours with the workdays being Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

About you

As our ideal candidate you will have:

  • well-developed computer literacy
  • sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
  • demonstrated payroll experience in the use of a Human Resources Information System (preferably CHRIS21).

A qualification in Payroll Administration and/or commensurate experience would be highly regarded.
