STATUS:                 Part time Ongoing & Parental Leave Replacement Estimated Completion 22/06/2020

HOURS:                 40.0 hours ongoing and 32.0 hours fixed term per fortnight

DEPARTMENT:      Flanagan Rehabilitation

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our Flanagan Rehabilitation team.  This is a great opportunity to further your rehabilitation nursing skills and enjoy being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.  Whilst experience in acute and/or rehabilitation nursing is highly desirable, applications without this experience will be considered and learning will be supported. As a Registered Nurse in Flanagan, your role will be to provide a high standard of nursing care to those people requiring sub-acute inpatient care and support the effective and timely transition back to their home through goal-based care plans and effective discharge planning.

The Flanagan Rehabilitation Ward is a 20 bed unit comprised of 17 Rehabilitation / Geriatric Evaluation and Management beds, 2 Transition Care Program (TCP) beds and 1 alcohol and drug detoxification bed providing a diverse mix of patient care requirements.

The ideal applicants will have:

  • Demonstrated competence in a clinical setting preferably in the sub-acute setting
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake full patient assessments and develop a goal based care plan  
  • Well-developed skills and knowledge of discharge planning and transition of care and proven participation in complex discharging planning
  • Demonstrated well developed communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven commitment to the provision of excellent customer service and patient centred care
  • Recent acute nursing experience is highly desirable
  • Rehabilitation nursing experience would be an advantage
