Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced General Surgeon to join our expanding Medical Workforce team.  In this role you will provide high quality assessment and care to inpatients and outpatients, clinical leadership and support to medical staff and assistance with future planning and service review processes at BRHS and in relation to the needs of the broader community.  This is a full time position however applications for part time roles will be considered.  

As the largest healthcare provider in East Gippsland, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) provides services to a rapidly growing population.  The BRHS Medical Workforce provides services across a broad spectrum of care with the directorate encompassing the clinical areas of General Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Surgery.  The Surgical team manages two operating theatres, surgical ward patient management, a pre-admission clinic, and also provides a consultation service.   The Health service operates 51 acute beds including a newly established 4 bed High Dependency Unit and an Emergency Department which currently receives approximately 20,000 varied presentations per year.
