STATUS:           Fixed Term until 24/07/2020

HOURS:            Part Time, 48.0 hours per fortnight


This fantastic opportunity has presented for a senior Occupational Therapist who is looking for a new challenge to progress their career in a leadership role.

BRHS Allied Health Services provide hospital, community and home based allied health services to the communities of East Gippsland.  The Occupational Therapy department provides services to acute inpatients, rehabilitation inpatients, lymphoedema clients, hand therapy clients and outpatients and is supported by a team of Allied Health Assistants who facilitate groups and support ongoing inpatient therapy and home based programs.

In this position you will coordinate the support services to the Allied Health department to ensure client centred and collaborative services are being delivered by the department consistently.  Key to this role will be the provision of quality leadership and support to the Occupational Therapy, Allied Health Assistant and support services teams and management and integration of Allied Health projects.


The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum of  5 years' experience in clinical Occupational Therapy with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Qualifications in Management desirable
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team of Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants and delegate tasks appropriately
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement processes and contemporary health principles to drive and embed change.
  • Proven ability to consult and communicate effectively with peers and other department heads to support effective collaborative interdisciplinary care
  • Ability to apply knowledge and understanding of issues impacting the Health Service, including   government policy and funding, to ensure the objectives of the Allied Health department are achieved.
  • Ability to interpret data and information to inform the needs of the service, staff and community and implement improvements to systems and service delivery.
