Position Details

STATUS:            Ongoing, Part Time,

HOURS:             56.0 hours per fortnight

DEPARTMENT:   Rotamah Medical/Paediatrics/Midwifery

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Rotamah nursing team in this permanent role.  This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated nursing team and expand your skills caring for a diverse range of patients.  Applicants must have excellent clinical assessment and care planning skills and a minimum of 12 months recent acute nursing experience.  Applications for a portion of these hours will be considered.

Rotamah is a 17 bed Midwifery, Paediatric, Palliative and General Medical ward, providing a diverse mix of patient care requirements. Patient care is provided by a skilled nursing and midwifery team and is well supported by Medical, Allied Health and Ancillary staff.  Midwives, Registered and Enrolled Nurses are responsible for specific divisions of the ward but also work together to provide care for the whole client cohort.   

 

The ideal applicant will demonstrate:

  • Excellent clinical assessment skills with the ability to apply the escalation of care principles.
  • Excellent care planning skills with a good understanding of and commitment to providing patient centred care with a compassionate approach.
  • A well-developed understanding of discharge planning and transition of care issues so as to achieve safe and timely discharge;
  • Proven capacity to work in an effective and collaborative manner
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to utilise key principles to ensure a good clinical handover and escalation of care.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to effectively manage conflict
  • A willingness to adapt to a constantly changing environment with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
