Position Details

Are you a nursing student and have completed one year (or more) of your studies?

Would you like to gain additional experience and exposure in the hospital environment?

Fantastic opportunities exist for nursing students to gain employment at BRHS whilst continuing their studies. Contract types and hours are flexible and negotiable and can be discussed at interview or in advance by contacting Jo Marshall on 03 5150 3412.

The Position:

The RUSON works as part of the healthcare team, assisting registered nurses with direct patient care (within defined parameters) and other activities as directed in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the delegation, and supervision, of qualified and experienced registered nurses.  

In this position you may work across a variety of areas at BRHS, including the acute wards, Emergency, Oncology, Dialysis, Home Based Nursing and Aged Care. Your role will be in accordance with the specific ward duty list and under the direction and support of a registered nurse.

What you Need:

  • A current student undertaking an approved Bachelor of Nursing degree course at an Australian University.
  • Successful completion of at least 12 months' of the above degree course.
  • Developing clinical assessment skills.
  • A good understanding of & commitment to providing patient centred care with a compassionate approach.
  • Capacity to work in an effective and collaborative manner as part of a multidisciplinary health team.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to utilise key principles to ensure good clinical support and care within the scope of the role.
