Contract: Ongoing position, 4 – 6 hours fortnightly
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our small but specialised team of bladder coordinators, providing weekly bladder cancer treatments.
The Position:
The Bladder Clinic is a service provided by the BRHS Surgical Services department and allows the East Gippsland community access to contemporary bladder cancer treatment close to home. The objective of this role is to provide expert, safe and a high standard of bladder cancer treatment for patients who have had surgical resection of bladder tumour. Staff are rostered for 4 – 6 hours fortnightly (alternating Mondays) but some weekday flexibility is required, including providing leave relief for other team members.
Role Criteria:
- Preferred – minimum 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Current competency in Antineoplastic Drug Administration and Cytotoxic spill management and the Catheterisation Package would be an advantage (in-house support and training will be provided to achieve these if not already attained), with a sound understanding of principles of cytotoxic administration and safety precautions.
- Recent post-surgery/anaesthetic nursing experience in either PACU or surgical ward is preferred
